Background
The organisation conducted external benchmarking, which showed that significant cost savings could be made in IS services, when compared with industry peers. IS services had not kept up with recent changes with business expectations and technology trends within the industry. The organisation was also facing a major inflection point with their largest IS services outsourcing contract, with only 12 months remaining. Coeus were asked to lead a programme to understand how to address the age old dichotomy of reducing run costs, whilst at the same time delivering world class IS services to the business.

Approach
Coeus conducted an end to end review of global IS services and the current commercial and contractual arrangements to identify key focus areas for cost reduction and deficiencies in service delivery. Coeus were then asked to develop and lead the IS transformation programme, including the following work-streams:

  • Development of RFPs for each of the technical towers
  • Incumbent pre-RFP proposal evaluation
  • Development of new operating model for internal Service Integration function
  • Development of the business case and detailed sourcing / negotiation strategy

Outcomes and Deliverables

Working with the client organisation’s team Coeus rapidly produced:

  • Business case for sourcing options
  • Documented sourcing strategy, negotiation and communications plan
  • Steering board paper and presentation to Group CIO and CFO
